Megan Harton (they/them) is a composer, audio engineer, and intermedia sound artist working on the unceded lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Born in Tkaronto (Toronto, Ontario), on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Megan’s practice emerges from the intersections of sound, technology, memory, and activism.

Their evolving body of work engages deeply with education, collaboration, composition, production, research, and performance; often interrogating the social and political dimensions of sound. Megan’s creative portfolio spans multimedia installations, electroacoustic compositions, concert works, and collaborative research-creation, with presentations on international stages and scholarly platforms.
As a concert curator and promoter under the moniker READY, SET, SOUND; Megan actively contributes to Victoria’s local music scene by designing inclusive and accessible live music experiences. They perform in mt. logan, an electroacoustic free improvisation duo with Isaiah Doyle (they/them), and together co-host TRUE PEAKS on CFUV 101.9FM, a radio show investigating the histories and hierarchies embedded in computer, tape, and electroacoustic music traditions.

Megan holds a Master of Music Technology (with distinction) from the University of Victoria and an Honours Bachelor of Music in Composition from Wilfrid Laurier University. They are the recipient of the 2022 Digital Sound Art Competition at the Open Ears Festival of Music and Sound, and have participated in residencies with Continuum Contemporary Music’s HATCH program, Ocean Networks Canada, and the Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park. Their work has been featured at gatherings including the American Geophysical Union, the Timbre and Orchestration Summer School, and the Society of Music Production Research.
Megan is passionate about education and arts administration, serving on the board of NUMUS Concerts, working in the Postsecondary department at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and teaching sessionally at the University of Victoria. Across all facets of their work, Megan remains committed to fostering inclusive creative communities and exploring sound as a force for connection and change.
